Acupuncture is a time-tested Chinese healing method that involves placing thin needles at targeted points on the body. Used for centuries to address conditions like chronic pain, anxiety, and depression, it has gained widespread recognition in modern medicine for its effectiveness and holistic approach.
Cupping is often referred to as a "tissue distraction" technique that gently lifts and separates the body’s tissues. By gliding the cups across the skin, it helps release tension between muscles, fascia, and nerves. This method can relax tight muscles, release trigger points, boost circulation and lymphatic flow, and reduce scar tissue adhesions.
Work conditioning programs are designed to match a patient’s specific job demands and typically run for 4 to 8 weeks. Sessions usually last 1–3 hours, 2–3 times per week, while more intensive work hardening sessions last 2–4 hours, 3–5 times per week. Both programs can be adjusted to accommodate the patient’s work schedule.

In New York, patients can see a physical therapist without a doctor’s referral, but certain rules apply. A PT can treat a patient directly for up to 10 visits or 30 days, whichever comes first. If the PT has at least 3 years of experience and is 21 or older, they may treat under direct access.
At the start of treatment, the PT must give the patient a written notice explaining that insurance may not cover the sessions without a referral. This notice must include the treatment start date, patient’s and PT’s names and addresses, both signatures, and the date signed. A copy must be kept in the patient’s file.
